Cheat India Poster: Emraan Hashmi’s Movie Is Set in the Year 2000 – Here Is Proof
A new poster of the upcoming film Cheat India has been unveiled by the makers.
A new poster of the upcoming film Cheat India has been unveiled by the makers. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi and, honestly, just that name is enough to draw our interest. Cherry on the top is that the premise of the movie is fresh and the first poster makes the movie look really cool. It is not clear from the poster whether the lead character, played by Emraan, is on the good side or the bad. But again that is the best part about it. As we all know that the movie will highlight the infamous cheating scams in the competitive exams in India. The poster drives home this point visually.
From the poster, we also get to know the time period that the movie will be set in. It looks unlikely that the movie will be set in the current time period. As you can see on the poster Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes are visible; the currency notes that have been discontinued post demonetisation of 2016. One of the faux admit-card also shows the exam date to be something in 2000, which is exactly the year the notes started printing.
Earlier, in a press statement, Hashmi said, “The script and title of Cheat India are supremely powerful. This is among the most engaging and riveting stories I’ve read in a while and I am thrilled to be essaying what I believe will be a landmark role in my filmography. I am also looking forward to working with some formidable partners - Soumik, an amazing storyteller.”
Cheat India, written and directed by Soumik Sen, will release on January 25, 2019. This will be the first big release of the new year and we are certainly looking forward to it. Interestingly, the movie will clash with another movie which is a take on the education system in India - Hrithik Roshan's Super 30. Also, let us not forget that Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is also all set to release on January 25.
