Amazon Prime collaborated with Only Much Louder (OML) in 2017 with 14 Indian stand-up comedians to produce original web-series. Of these fourteen, the latest one to release is popular comedian Zakir Khan's eight-episode-long web-series Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare. The show is based in the backdrop of Indore. It tells the story of Ronny Pathak (Zakir Khan), a young man who along with his two friends Anwar (Vyom Sharma) and Kranti (Kumar Varun) are up to all kinds of mischief in the town. Ronny is a favourite because everyone is under the impression that Ashwini Pathak (Abhimanyu Singh), an MLA of Indore is his Chacha (paternal uncle). Ronny continually uses the MLA's name to get away with all kinds of notorities, be it getting his friend admission in an engineering college or booking train tickets in VIP quota.

In this story of Ronny and his self-created pride of being an MLA's fake nephew, there are a lot of layers, a lot more stories and a right amount of entertainment. Here, we list down five reasons why you must not miss watching this gem from the famous sakth launda.

Zakir Khan's character of Ronny is one typical small-town boy who has his heart in the right place. His role will pleasantly surprise you when you discover that his MLA uncle's name for him is not an ego-label but rather a tag he uses to help people around him. Despite his character being one who is constantly lying, you will at no point be able to dislike him. The character is cleverly written and effortlessly pulled off by Zakir. He is street-smart, yet innocent and lovable.

Relatable

You tend to know each character you meet in the show - the mother who cries at the drop of a hat, the father who is offended at being referred as 'yaar', the sister who is constantly trying to expose his brother's misdeeds to be the beloved child of the parents, the ever-loyal friends, the girl who friend-zones her guy 'best-friend', and the Vidhayak Chacha, who is pompous, full of himself and always ready with a revolver. It also has a believable plot and execution. The story doesn't have unhealthy high or low points; it flows at a balanced pace, and seamlessly slips from one episode to the other.

Humour

The humour factor in the otherwise dramatic show is just perfect. Zakir Khan has ensured viewers get the right amount of chuckles through the show. Even the most emotional and dramatic scenes have a tinge of underlined humour to them, which has prevented it from being melodramatic at any point and keep you hooked to it.

The Love Angle

Ronny's love-interest Avantika (Venus Singh) is another central character in the plot. A friend-zoned Ronny loves her so unconditionally that he even helps her elope and marry her love Lucky even though it comes at the cost of his father ending up in jail. You will keep hoping at some point she will finally see all that is wrong with Lucky and end up with Ronny. You won't be able to resist a laugh in the many scenes where Ronny's activities revolve around Avantika like a loony teenager smitten by her.

Short and Fast

The series has eight episodes between 25-30 minutes. It is neither too long nor too short. You can spend a good 3-4 hours, and binge watch it. The plot is fast, each episode has an almost independent story, building up for the final episode. The series follows the classic dramatic structure - crisis, climax and resolution and each part of it is equally engaging, funny and gripping.

Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare is definitely worth a watch. You can watch it over the weekend. It is funny, crisp and relatable.  And you will not regret spending a few hours over this one. The concept is unique just like the other Amazon-OML collab shows. It isn't the kind of content that will stay with you, but more of a feel-good one.
