Canadian Rapper Smoke Dawg Allegedly Killed Outside Toronto Cube Night Club in Shooting

Canadian rapper Smoke Dawg has died in a shooting in Toronto. As per reports, the 21-year-old was in Central Toronto on Saturday evening when he was killed. The local police said that the incident happened in the city's Cube Nightclub at around 8 pm. Two other people were injured in the street shooting. The police later took to Twitter saying that the "suspects may have fled in black SUV or white car". The Toronto Police confirmed the incident as being as treated as a homicide.
Smoke Dawg was part of the city's Halal Gang rappers and was considered to be the rising stars. He had Trinidadian, Jamaica and Somalian heritage. Rapper Drake took to social media mourning Dawg's death.
Drake took to Instagram writing, "All these gifts and blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is devastating. I wish peace would wash over our city. So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out. Rest up Smoke."
Mustafa the Poet, a Canadian spoken word artist, announced the news of his friend's death on Twitter. He wrote: "Smokey is gone, may our prayers follow him to heaven." He gained fame and success with the song 'Still' three years ago. He had also collaborated with American hip-hop artist French Montana and UK's Skepta. Dawg's death comes just weeks after US rapper XXXTentacion was killed in an apparent robbery at a motorcycle dealership in Florida.
