Box Office: Kabir Singh, Uri, Bharat – 5 Bollywood Movies That Earned the Most in the First Half of 2019
Half of 2019 is over and we have the list of box office winners so far. Certain names of the movies on the list of top-grossing movies are unexpected. The number 1 spot has been earned by Uri - The Surgical Strike, which starred Vicky Kaushal. After that come Salman Khan's Bharat, Akshay Kumar's Kesari, Ajay Devgn's Total Dhamaal, and Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh.
Can you believe we are already halfway done with 2019? Time flies. The box office winner this year has been an underdog. Who knew Vicky Kaushal's film will beat a Salman Khan starrer. Well, that is the Indian box office for you. Unpredictable. The highest earning movie this year is not a Bollywood film but a Hollywood entry. Avengers: Endgame is the highest grosser even at the Indian box office. But as we list down the top 5 earners of the first half of 2019, we are going to keep Endgame out of it.
This year, even Akshay Kumar failed to earn the top spot. His movie Kesari only landed on the third number. Call it unexpected but Total Dhamaal has also earned a spot in the top 5 earners of the year. Check out the list of highest box officer rankers of the first half of 2019:
1. Uri - The Surgical Strike
Collection: Rs 245.36 crore
2. Bharat
Collection: Rs 209.16 crore
3. Kesari
Collection: Rs 154.41 crore
4. Total Dhamaal
Collection: Rs 154.23 crore
5. Kabir Singh
Collection: Rs 134.42 crore* (At the time of writing this feature, the movie was Rs 6 crore behind Gully Boy but will beat the Ranveer Singh starrer in the next 24 hours). Kabir Singh Box Office Collection Day 7: Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Film Rakes In Rs 134.42 Crore.
In the coming days, some big movies are going to release. Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 might give a tough competition to the movies in the above list. Prabhas' Saaho will also release in Hindi and it will most certainly break a few box office records. Housefull 4 will also be a strong contender. And, of course, Salman will end the year with a bang...we mean with a Dabangg.
