Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara completed eight today. The film has been special for fans who loved and related to every bit of the friendship drama starring Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol in lead roles. As the film completes eight years today, actor Abhay Deol took to Instagram share a still from the film and wrote a heartfelt message with it. He said, "It’s been 8 years since I made this film. It’s the one movie that had people come up to me and say, “I saw this and I quit my job” or, “I saw this and made peace with an old friend,” to “I took a break from work” and even, “I got a divorce!” It inspired people to follow their dreams, to take action, to accept who and where they are. I couldn’t ask for more! It was an honour and a privilege to work with you @zoieakhtar. "

Not just Abhay, Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the film turning eight. He wrote, "8 years since Bagwati moved on.. but I guess the life has to the move ons the somehow... Love to all amigos and amigas .. you who made the film possible and you who made the film a success in more ways than just box office can quantify. While both the posts by the lead stars are lovely and we couldn't agree more that the film was inspiring to many and celebrated friendship in one of the most honest ways. It looks like fans haven't got enough of it though. There were several comments on Farhan Akhtar's post asking for a sequel. Well, if we look at Bollywood's current trend today, it is quite common for makers to come up with sequels. We recently heard two big announcements, Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which will be sequels. Would a sequel to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara work though? The answer is you never know. It would certainly be interesting to watch what happened with the characters of Farhan, Hrithik, Abhay and Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin in the film.
