Weeks before its release, Zero is facing a religious controversy thanks to its trailer for something not many has noticed in the promo. After all, when had a big film released in India without hurting someone's moral or religious 'sentiments'? So what happened with Zero? Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has filed a legal complaint against the makers of Zero for a scene in the trailer, involving a Gatra Kirpan, that they allege have hurt the sentiments of Sikhs. Zero: Red Chillies Entertainment Moves Delhi HC Against Notice Over the Shah Rukh Khan- Starrer.

As per DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the trailer portrays the sacred dagger as an ordinary knife and has asked the court to coax the makers to take this scene from the trailer, as well as in the movie. He has also written to the director, Aanand L Rai, claiming that if that doesn't happen, the community will stage protests when Zero is about to release. In the meantime, Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, who has produced Zero, has filed a caveat in the Delhi Court, in response to the legal notice, requesting not to take any action without listening to their side. The makers also claim that they have not show any kirpan in the movie.

Now, as per an update from ANI, the Bombay High Court have asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to examine Zero for the objectional scenes mentioned. Following which, CBFC has to submit a report of their findings before December 18. The movie also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Zero has SRK play a vertically challenged man whose life is changed by the arrival of two women. The trailer was launched during Shah Rukh Khan's birthday and had received much appreciation.
