Shah Rukh Khan's Zero landed its first major controversy when the first trailer came out. Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee general secretary Manjinder Singh raised objections over a scene in the film and filed a complaint against the makers in the court for allegedly insulting Sikh sentiments. The reason? There was a scene in the film that showed a dagger for a glimpse of a moment, and Singh believes it to be the kirpan, the sacred dagger of the Sikhs, thus leading to the conclusion that Zero insults his community. Zero: High Court Asks CBFC To Examine Shah Rukh Khan's Film To See If It Hurts Sikh Sentiments.

In the latest update about the case, Shah Rukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment has filed an affidavit in Bombay High Court. As per ANI, the affidavit clarifies that the dagger shown in the trailer and one of the posters is not a kirpan, but an ornamental dagger that is used in many weddings.

The production house further mentions in the affidavit that they have still taken steps to avoid further controversy. Using digital effects, they will be making the dagger into a sword, thereby not getting any 'sentiments' hurt.

Hoping that this solution brought up by the production house manages to satiate the concerned parties. Zero also recently landed into another controversy, when a fresh complaint was raised against the movie with National Commission for Women for allegedly insulting physically challenged women. Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero in Fresh Trouble for ‘Insulting’ Physically Disabled Women - Read Deets.

Zero, directed by Aanand L Rai and also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, is scheduled to release on December 21.
