After being away from the big screen for over a year now, Shah Rukh Khan is back in the business with his much-awaited film Zero which has finally released today, December 21. Directed by supremely talented filmmaker Aanand L Rai, the big budget film co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif alongside Khan. While the trailer of SRK starrer impressed the critics big time, the film sadly hasn't. Zero has garnered mixed reviews so far, however, Katrina has been lauded for giving her career-best performance as Babita in the film. Shah Rukh, too, has been praised for playing his part with earnestly. Zero Movie Review: Katrina Kaif Gets Unanimous Praise from the Critics as She Delivers Her Best Performance Yet.

With no big Hindi release alongside Zero, trade experts have predicted that SRK and Rai's collaboration should easily rake in Rs 30 crore on its opening day that too in worst case scenario.  While the first-day figures will be out only tomorrow, according to a report in BollywoodHungama, Zero has opened to 50% plus occupancy in the morning shows almost all over India which is pretty decent. In fact, in North India and few other places, the film opened to jam-packed theatres.

The movie has got 4380 screens in India and additional 1585 screens overseas bringing its total count to 5965 screens worldwide. Now that's mighty impressive, right? So if Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka manage to impress the audience with their act then Zero will definitely end up with good box office figures going ahead. Zero Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan's Film Won't Break the Opening Day Record of Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan.

For now, SRK's most expensive film till date seems to be heading in the right direction at the ticket windows. But the question is - will Zero gather momentum over the weekend and get cash registers ringing? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
