There is finally some good news for team Zero. The Aanand L Rai directorial, which released on December 21, is slowly picking up at the Indian box office. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead, the big-budget love triangle got off to a shaky start at the ticket windows as it collected only Rs 20.14 crore on its opening day despite all the buzz and positive response to the trailer. The film didn't manage to impress the critics and underperformed at the BO over its first weekend. Zero Box Office Collection Day 4: Shah Rukh Khan's Film Inching Towards Rs 70 Crore Mark.

On Monday, Zero held up well and ended up raking in Rs 9.50 crore which is pretty decent considering the kind of negative reviews the film received early on. And yesterday, the SRK starrer did even better as it was the big Christmas holiday. The film minted Rs 12.75 crore, bringing its total five-day collection to Rs 81.32 crore in India.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to popular microblogging site Twitter and announced the updated box office figures. He wrote, '#Zero witnessed growth on Day 5 [#Christmas]… Day 6 [Wed] and Day 7 [Thu] biz crucial... Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr, Sun 20.71 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 12.75 cr. Total: ₹ 81.32 cr. While Zero is now heading in the right direction, let's hope it's not too late as Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba is releasing this Friday, December 28. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the massy entertainer has created good buzz and is looking to do well at the cinema halls. The music of the film is already trending and everyone is quite excited about seeing Ranveer and Sara's fresh jodi onscreen. So unlike Zero, will Simmba witness a bumper opening? Only time will tell but one thing is for sure - Shah Rukh's film won't have an easy ride at the box office once Ranveer's Simmba arrives.
