Despite getting a wide release in India, Shah Rukh Khan's highly anticipated film Zero didn't witness a bumper opening on its first day. The film co-starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif released on December 21 and received not-so-great reviews. Though Ms Kaif turned out to be a surprise element in the Aanand L Rai directorial, overall, the film just couldn't wow the critics. And the case is pretty much the same with the audience as well. We say so because according to trade experts Zero should have easily minted Rs 30 crore on its first day. However, the film underperformed and ended up earning Rs 20.14 crore. Zero Box Office Collection Day 2: Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma's Drama Sees a Slight Dip, Collects Rs 38.36 Crore.

On Saturday, the collections of Zero went down and the romantic drama collected Rs 18.22 crore. On day 3, Sunday, the Shah Rukh starrer performed slightly better and raked in Rs 20.17 crore, bringing its total three-day collection to Rs 59.07 crore. Considering the kind of buzz Khan had created around his film, Zero should have undoubtedly done much better at the ticket windows.

Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the updated box office figures on Twitter a while back and pointed out, '#Zero has clearly underperformed... Remained on similar levels over the weekend... While so far the collections of Zero have been average at the box office, the film will have to gather momentum in a day or two to end up with good lifetime figures. If it doesn't than SRK's film will have a tough time at the BO Friday onwards as Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's massy entertainer Simmba is releasing on December 28. Once the Rohit Shetty directorial arrives in the cinema halls, it will be a herculean task for Zero to get cash registers ringing.
