In a shocking move, Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim has announced her discontinuation from films. In her latest long post on Instagram, she revealed the line of work is interfering her 'faith' and 'religion'. Hence, after being in the industry for 5 years, she has decided to quit the industry. The actress of Kashmiri origin was a rage when she debuted in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal. Proving her mettle, she bagged more two films. Dangal:

The actress played the role of young Geeta Phogat in this Nitesh Tiwari directed wrestling drama. She was the new face launched by Aamir Khan and her flawless performance was loved by the critics and the masses. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for this film.

Secret Superstar:

After the much-loved performance in Dangal, she was roped in, in this musical drama. Directed by Advait Chandan, and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the film was a hit instantly. Zaira portrayed the role of a teenage girl who aspires to be a singer. However, due to her orthodox and abusive father, she uploads the videos of her songs in a niqab which makes her a singing sensation. The character was portrayed beautifully by her, with shades of vulnerability and strength. She won the best actress (critics) award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards. Later on, both her performances in Dangal and this movie got her honoured with National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement by President of India Ram Nath Kovind.

The Sky Is Pink:

This is her upcoming film directed by Shonali Bose. In the flick, she will be playing the role of the motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. The shooting of the film was completed in March 2019. The movie also marks as the comeback film of Priyanka Chopra who will play the role of her mother, Aditi Chaudhary. It is slated to release on 11 October 2019.
