Zaira Wasim has decided to quit her career in films as she claims them to be interfering her faith and religion. The national-award-winning actress will be seen in the upcoming film 'The Sky Is Pink' that also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. She announced her decision through her latest Instagram post.

Zaira Wasim has made a rather surprising revelation on social media. The 18-year-old actress who was seen last in Dangal and Secret Superstar, has decided to quit films as she claims it to be interfering her 'faith' and 'religion'. The national-award-winner actress shared a long note through her Instagram post where she explained her thoughts on the same. This move comes after she completed the shoot for her upcoming film, 'The Sky Is Pink' that also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead. An excerpt from her long note says, "This is just my first step as I have arrived at the clarity of realisation of the path I wish to be on and strive for and during this time I may have consciously or unconsciously planted a seed of temptation in the hearts of many, but my sincere advice to everyone is that no amount of success, fame, authority or wealth is worth trading or losing your peace or the light of your ‘imaan’ for."

The fans flooded her account with comments. While some supported her move, others asked her to rethink her decision. Some of them appreciated her as an actress and asked her to continue in the industry. Zaira also removed the posts related to her films and her photo-shoots from her Instagram account. She has already shot for the next film in which she will play the role of a motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker diagnosed from pulmonary fibrosis. PC will be seen in the film as her mother Aditi Chaudhary. Directed by Shonali Bose, the film was completed in March 2019. The release is scheduled to be on 11 October 2019. The makers yet to comment on this decision of their lead star.
