It is late filmmaker Yash Johar's birth anniversary. He is known to be Bollywood's noted producers. Hailing from Punjab, the renowned personality made his own place in Bombay with Dharma Productions, which is now run by his son, director-Karan Johar. He first started with contributing in Dev Anand's Navketan Films and then on established his own firm, giving multiple popular films with picturesque songs. From 1990 film Dostana to 2003 film Kal Ho Naa Ho, the films produced by him have been of people's favourite.
Also, KJo just follows his father's footsteps when it comes to grandeur and modish touch to the films. Yash is known for giving his fans that grand, larger than life experience. Not just visuals, but he also emphasized greatly on the aspects like family values, culture and emotions through his films. Here are five songs from the films that he bankrolled which are certainly for keeps.
Salaamat Rahe Dostana Humara (Dostana)
Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam (Duplicate)
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)
Bole Chudiyan (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham)
Kal Ho Naa Ho (Kal Ho Naa Ho)
Well, the fans of these songs, rather these films are a plenty and we can't thank enough for the filmmaker for backing the vision. Karan Johar who was extremely close to his dad, often remembers him in many of his interviews. Not just KJO, but he was also a strong support for the industry friends. In fact, the latest film directed by Karan Johar, Kalank, was a tribute to his father as it was his 'baby' initially. On his birth anniversary, we gladly remember some of his best work in B-town.
