Every year, with a different theme and agenda, World Environment Day is hosted by one country. This year's event too is organized around a theme and the sole purpose of a theme is to draw our attention to a particularly pressing environmental concern. This year (2019), the theme is ‘Beat Air Pollution’, which is a call to combat the global crisis and it has been chosen by this year’s host, China.
