June 5 is known for celebrating the World Environment Day and the social media is abuzz with all the 'save environment' messages. The recent concern for the world citizens is use of plastic and the harm that it is creating to the nature. In Maharashtra, the use of plastic has been banned and the ones who are rooting rightly for this cause are our Bollywood celebs. Days like today, are best for the celebs to propagate the cause, as it might enlighten their fan following in some way or the other. Actors like Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Kapoor, Dia Mirza and more have asked their fans to beat the plastic pollution.

Alia Bhatt tweeted, "#BeatPlasticPollution by switching to steel or glass bottles today! Plastic bottles take 450 years or more to decompose, harming us and our environment. I’m now one step closer towards purging plastic from my life. Hope you guys will make the switch too!#LetsCoexist @deespeak."

Also, Dia Mirza shared a really disturbing and eye-opening picture of plastic sewage, throwing light on the current situation of cities. And, trust us on this, it is damn scary. The RHTDM actress also made some sharp points saying, "All those contesting Maharashtra Government’s ban on #singleuseplastics I want to ask you, WHY? How can you NOT see the damage it’s doing? Shouldn’t you be responsible for the waste you generate? We are drowning in plastics. Our health, water, soil, seas, nothing is spared."
