This week Uri: The Surgical Strike is arriving in the theatres and though the film is not as big as Ranveer Singh's Simmba, everyone is looking forward to it for one big reason and that's Vicky Kaushal. He is playing the lead in the film which is loosely based on the Indian army's controversial surgical strike that took place in 2016 after four terrorists attacked Indian military camp in Uri, Kashmir. While it's a sensitive subject, what makes Uri important for Vicky is the fact that he is carrying a film on his shoulders for the first time after delivering some amazing performances in recent past. Shoaib Ibrahim's 'Uri-Based' Film and Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri' To Clash At The Box-Office.

Vicky made his acting debut with Masaan in 2015 and got noticed by everyone courtesy his nuanced performance in the film as a boy who belonged to the Dom community from Varanasi. Though the film wasn't a box office success, Vicky announced his arrival in Bollywood and how. Next, the talented actor was seen in Raman Raghav 2.0 alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Again, this Anurag Kashyap directorial wasn't a commercial film but Vicky stood out with his act despite sharing screen space with Siddiqui who is one of the finest actors in the industry.

But it was last year that changed things for Vicky. In 2018, he did five films. Both Love Per Square Foot and Lust Stories were Netflix original and thoroughly entertained the web viewers with its hatke content. But it was Raazi, Sanju and Manmarziyaan that got the 30-year-old in limelight. To be precise, it was his performance in Sanju that made Vicky a household name overnight. The film went on to become a blockbuster and Kamlesh aka Vicky became instantly famous.

And now after dishing out some terrific performances and a huge blockbuster, Vicky will be seen in Uri and hence the expectations are quite high from the young lad. While he has proven his acting chops time and again, it's important that Uri does well because that will help Vicky establish himself not just as a good actor but also as a bankable star. Someone who can pull off a film on his own and make money too. So let's hope for the best as far as box office is concerned but as for Vicky, it's very unlikely that he will disappoint us with his acting in Uri. Do you agree with it guys?
