In spite of getting mixed reviews, Dhadak has been getting a favourable response at the box office. The movie, that has been produced by Karan Johar and Zee Studios and directed by Shashank Khaitan, has the highest opening weekend collection for a movie starring newcomers - Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak has already collected Rs 48 crore in six days at the domestic box office and is all set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark by the end of the week. While the Rs 100 crore mark is still a long way off, it is not exactly an impossible task per se. So far so good, as Bollywood now gets two more stars in the crowded business.

What shocking is the low rating for Dhadak on IMDB. As you are aware, the IMDB score is based on the aggregate reviews that users have rated the movie on from a scale of 1 to 10. Currently, Dhadak is having a measly 3.9 score. It looks like many Sairat fans are not happy with Karan Johar's glossy remake of the iconic Marathi film.

Even the user reviews for Dhadak are terrible, though we are not sure if many of them have written them out of spite for the movie, rather than having watched it!

It is not just Dhadak who got hate on IMDB this year; even Salman Khan's Race 3 (2.1) and Kareena-Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding (2.8) have got bad IMDB scores. Compared to them, at least Dhadak fared better.

So does Dhadak demand such hate from fans? Well, we ourselves have our issues with the movie, that we have pointed out in the review, and have called it an unnecesary remake. But then it is definitely a better-made product than Race 3 is all we can say for now!

Meanwhile, at a success party for the movie, Karan Johar revealed that Dhadak was a homage to Sairat. Well, it's up to you to infer what you want to make of it!
