There is one very important topic we are not talking about in the wake of the #MeToo movement in India. We are not talking about the accusations levelled against prominent men in the past. No, we are not talking about the accusations against Nana Patekar by Horn Ok Please. Just like this case, we all have forgotten one more story. We have forgotten the time when Alisha Chinai accused Anu Malik of sexual harassment back in the '90s. #MeToo in Bollywood: Nandita Das, Konkona Sen Sharma, Zoya Akhtar, Meghna Gulzar Won’t Work With Proven Offenders.

As per a report by Masala.com, around 1996, when Alisha was at the top of her game with the success of her single Made in India, she accused Anu Malik of molesting her. She filed a case against him and demanded Rs 26.60 lakhs. In return, Anu had filed a defamation case asking for rs 2 crore from Alisha. #MeToo in Bollywood: Subash Ghai Accused of Trying to Forcibly Kiss Actress; Police Complaint Filed.

While talking to Mumbai Mirror recently, Alisha Chinai recalled the ordeal. "When I sued (Anu) Malik, I fought it alone. It was an unprecedented landmark verdict and a restraining order was passed against him. The man has repeatedly begged for my forgiveness. I have chosen to forgive him and moved on,” the Kaja Re singer revealed.

“Every case and incident of sexual offence is very different, and only the one who wears the shoe knows where it hurts,” Alisha also said.

Alisha had vowed to never work with him again but the two, later, reconciled. She lent her voice to a song in the film Ishq Vishq, whose music director was Anu. The two even judged a season of Indian Idol together.
