Popular cricketer and Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri, who has been in the news lately for his alleged love affair with Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur, was once engaged to Saif Ali Khan's ex- wife Amrita Singh. According to a report in India Today, Ravi Shastri and Amrita Singh were dating for a very long time and kept the relationship under the wraps. Ravi Shastri Rubbishes Rumours on Dating Nirmat Kaur; Says, 'It Is The Biggest Load of Cowdung.'

The two reportedly got engaged in 1986 but denied rumours of marriage back then. Shastri was quoted as saying, "I definitely don't want an actress wife. I am chauvinistic. Her home should be her first priority." To which Amrita had replied, "At the moment I'm too involved in my career to give it up. But I'm sure after a couple of years, I will be ready to become a full-time wife and mother."

Ravi Shastri has been in the news lately for his rumoured love affair with Nimrat Kaur. While the Airlift actress denied all such reports, we have seen it innumerous times in the past how Bollywood actors have blatantly denied their love affairs in the beginning.

Coming back to Ravi and Amrita, their relationship was one of the most talked about love affairs of those times. However, the relationship eventually ended and Shastri went on to marry Ritu and Amrita got hitched to Saif.
