Bang Bang! had the title before with Rs 27.54 crore on day 1 at the box office. It's as if Hrithik and Siddharth Anand's job to make the most of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday. But we are pretty sure War must have surpassed their expectations as well.
War is a story of Kabir and Khalid, a master and his disciple. Kabir, played by Hrithik, was a covert commander in the Indian Intelligence bureau but an unfortunate incident makes him go underground. Later, it is revealed that he has gone rogue. Khalid, his protege, is then given the task to bring him to book. Laced with high-octane action sequences and hummable music, War is exactly what one needs at the theatres during this festive period. Now it remains to be seen how it trends for the rest of the week because that will decide its ultimate box office fate.
