Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff come together for the first time for the big screen in YRF's action spectacle, War. You might be already knowing about how Tiger looks upto Hrithik and how Hrithik treats him like a little brother in real life. But in the case of War, directed by Salaam Namaste and Bang Bang fame Siddharth Anand, they are pitted on the opposite sides of the drama. The movie was even promoted as a #HrithikvsTiger saga. Vaani Kapoor, producer Aditya Chopra's blue-eyed girl, is the female lead. War Movie Review: Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff’s Dynamic Duo and a Thrilling Third Act Make a Deadly Combo in This Action Thriller.

War is high on spectacles and action, but as a narrative, it is quite low on content. If you are in to see Hrithik look like a dreamboat, then War works for you. If you love to see Tiger Shroff do some kickass stunts, then you are in for a treat and even more. The third act of War is highly enjoyable, as it goes to the pulpy entertainment that we usually see in '90s thrillers, with John Woo's Broken Arrow and Face/Off coming to my mind. War: Twitterati is Super Impressed with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's New Release, Tag it as the 'Finest Action Movie' of Indian Cinema.

There are some big twists in the movie, all of which doesn't make complete sense but boy, they do make your jaws go slack. Check out five of the big ones below (SPOILER ALERT)

That Opening Sequence

The film begins with a senior Indian Intelligence official Naidu overlooking Kabir (Hrithik Roshan)'s assassination attempt on a dreaded terrorist in Syria. However, it turns out that Kabir is actually in Mumbai and his sniper rifle is trained at Naidu himself, with what the latter seeing on his feed being a setup. Kabir kills Naidu giving War a surprising cracker of an opening scene. That too, without completely revealing his self.

The Mole in The Group

During the first flashback sequence, Kabir and his team, including Khalid (Tiger Shroff) are in Marrakesh to capture a dreaded terrorist mastermind alive. Their plans go kaput, despite Kabir's best efforts, when one of his own team members, Sourabh, turns out to be on the enemy's side, and he kills two of Kabir's men in the ambush. Khalid tries to give Sourabh a thrilling chase across rooftops, and presumably kills him, but is heavily injured in the process.

The Big Twist

In the third act, Kabir and Khalid team up together when the latter convinces his mentor in his mission to find the real traitor in the group and find out the terrorists' real plan. All the fingers of suspicion are on Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) their in-charge. Kabir is in possession of a drive that reveals the villains' plan to destroy the Indian army's BrahMos satellite, that he gives to Khalid. However, during a houseboat ride in Kerala, Khalid tries to kill Kabir by poisoning him, revealing himself to be the real traitor!

The Real Khalid's Fate

Khalid came in the army with a disgrace already hanging on his head - that his turncoat father had betrayed the nation. So I was stunned when the movie revealed Khalid also as a traitor, putting him on the same path as his father, and destroying his character arc in the progress. But it turns out that the makers had hidden another ace in their sleeve. Earlier in the film, we learnt how a terrorist mastermind had changed his facial appearance to look like someone else. Similarly, it turns out that Khalid isn't Khalid, but Sourabh using Khalid's face. As for the real Khalid, he was sadly killed while giving chase to Sourabh during that botched Marrakesh operation, and the villains took his body to carry out the plastic surgery.

Kabir Knew The Truth

To no one's surprise, it turned out that Kabir, who like Race's Saif Ali Khan, wasn't really killed when Khalid tried to poison him. Earlier in the film, during a conversation between Kabir and Khalid, it is revealed that Khalid has a blind spot in his right eye, that makes him cannot see people standing on his extreme right. Only these two knew about it, so Sourabh, disguised as Khalid, gave himself away during a shootout in Australia where he easily kills men to his right, that fortunately came to the notice of Kabir. Kabir did followups on Khalid to figure out what he is upto and also realises that he plans to poison him. So when the fake Khalid was poisoning him, Kabir already had an anti-dote ready, and the drive he gave to the imposter with the satellite codes was a fudged one that destroys their terrorist attack.
