Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Drive is constantly failing to see the light of the day. The movie which was announced in 2018 was postponed several times and brought it to June 2019. Now, the latest we hear is that this Tarun Mansukhani directorial is again getting delayed and this time, for a 2020 release! The reason is majorly related to Sushant's upcoming film, Chhichhore's release, apparently!
A source told Pinkvilla.com, "Sushant's last release Sonchiriya was a complete washout at the box office. He's coming right out of that into Drive. He has a big film Chhichhore lined up and early reports suggest that Nitesh Tiwari's film might become a turning point in his career. So the makers of Drive are patiently waiting for the release of Chhichhore in August. How that film fares will decide their next move on Drive."
Sushant's next film is not the sole reason for this delay, the report says. The pending VFX work, a bit of re-shooting and a proper release window are also the reported additional factors resulting in this delay.
This will be Tarun Mansukhani's second feature film in Bollywood as a director. He earlier directed Priyanka Chopra-John Abraham-Abhishek Bachchan directed Dostana. Now, as Dostana 2 is announced, he is replaced by Collin D'Cunha as the director. Naturally, the fans were waiting for his next outing as the director after that glossy and successful movie. The film also stars Vikramjeet Virk, Sapna Pabbi, Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Vibha Chibber. Do you think the makers should rely upon Chhichhore's release? Tell us in the comments section below.
