The production for Vivek Oberoi's Narendra Modi biopic, directed by Omung Kumar, could be one of the shortest shooting schedules in recent times. Titled PM Narendra Modi, the movie was announced a couple of months back, and the shoot for the film began at the end of January this year. And on March 15, the makers of PM Narendra Modi biopic have announced that the film will release on April 12. Yes, within a month, we are going to have a movie in the theatres, the first of its kind, made on a Prime Minister who is still on governance. Vivek Oberoi Starrer PM Narendra Modi Biopic To Release on THIS Date.
And with such a sudden announcement, we care to wonder what's the big rush about releasing the biopic so early. PM Narendra Modi is coming a week after John Abraham's Romeo Akbar Walter and DC's superhero film, Shazam! (April 5). Five days later, on April 17, Karan Johar is releasing the ambitious period drama, Kalank, starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. So really, why release in such a packed schedule?
Twitterati, however, feels that the suspicious release date has more to do with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The 2019 Indian general election is scheduled to be held in 7 phases from 11 April 2019 to 19 May 2019. Considering that the movie is releasing just when the elections are happening, Twitterati feels this is a publicity gimmick for the ruling party and its supreme leader. Some even wonder how the election commission would look at this move.
