Dear peeps, we have entered this era of cinema and politics in India where we are making movies with political propaganda. This was a phenomenon we used to see during dictatorial regimes, like when Adolf Hitler had his hand over the fate of Germany in the '30s and '40s. While we have not yet reached that level of narcissism yet where rulers backed movies that were in praise of the regime, we are coming close to it. For in the month of January 2019, we have three movies that have been accused of being political mouthpieces in Thackeray, The Accidental Prime Minister and Uri: The Surgical Strike. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Says The Accidental Prime Minister Shows BJP's Desperation & Frustration Ahead of 2019 General Elections.
Now we are also hearing reports of a biopic being made on the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. This may be a first in our history that a biopic is being made on a PM when he is still in power. As per the latest update in Bombay Times, director Omung Kumar, who has previously made Mary Kom, Sarbjit and Bhoomi, is helming the project, while Vivek Oberoi will be playing Modi in the film. From Narendra Modi to Rahul Gandhi, Here's A Look at The Most Active Indian Politicians on Social Media in Year 2018.
If this report is true, then this is quite an unusual casting for Oberoi doesn't look anything like Modi. But then, from which angle did Priyanka Chopra look like Mary Kom, when she played the latter in her biopic?
However, the rumoured casting of Oberoi, who is an ardent supporter of the PM, has led to some very hilarious observations on Twitter.

Vivek Oberoi is such a dedicated artist that all these years he was practicing to play Modi in his biopic that's why he didn't deliver a single successful flick. pic.twitter.com/cSLdIbfDeQ

If true, this will be a huge project for Vivek Oberoi, whose Bollywood career has nosedived in recent years after taking off to a flying start in 2002 in Ram Gopal Varma's Company. BTW, the actor, who is quite busy being a baddie down South, has now changed his first name to Vivekanand Oberoi.
