Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Dear Comrade hit the screens on July 26. But Bollywood filmmaker-producer Karan Johar watched the film a day before the release, in a special screening. Soon after that KJo shared, “Glad to ANNOUNCE that @dharmamovies will be producing the Hindi remake of #dearcomrade !! Super excited about this!!! that Dear Comrade would be remade in Hindi.” Well, fans were elated on hearing this and soon after it the speculations on the star cast also started. But the latest rumour is, the Dear Comrade Hindi remake could be dropped as the Telugu film didn’t manage to mint big figures at the box office. Dear Comrade had a great opening worldwide on day one of its release. Many even predicted that the film would fare well throughout. But as days passed, it started to take a dip at the ticket windows. Since then rumours have started doing rounds that the Hindi version of Dear Comrade, the rights of which is reportedly acquired for Rs 6 crore, might get dropped. Trade expert Sreedhar Pillai told Mirror, “The film opened well at the box-office, but hasn’t lived up to the expectations.” A source close to Karan Johar’s production house was quoted saying, “Dear Comrade has fared as per the expectations of Karan’s company. They will surely be making the Hindi adaptation as planned.” Looks like everything is sailing pretty smooth for Dharma with regards to this remake. We just cannot wait for further updates!
