The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra has acquitted actor Vidyut Jamwal in a 2007 assault case. The case which is dated back on August 31 and September 1, 2007, when Vidyut Jamwal was partying with his friends at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Rahul Suri, a Juhu-based businessman pushed one of Vidyut Jamwal's friend that led to a fight. It is also reported that Vidyut's friend Harishnath Goswami hit a glass bottle on Suri's head. Goswami was immediately arrested but in a statement made to the police, Suri mentioned that Vidyut Jamwal had also assaulted him. The Commando actor was charged with various sections of the Indian Penal Code including causing grievous hurt, armed with a weapon and being a part of an unlawful assembly with common attention. Today (June 17), Mumbai's Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra, has acquitted actor Vidyut Jamwal of all the charges. Jamwal's friend Harishnath Goswami the major accused in the 2007 assault case is also acquitted by Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Vidyut Jamwal's lawyer Aniket had earlier stated, "This is a very old case where the offence alleged is of causing hurt, My client is innocent," reports Mumbai Mirror.
