The actor, who will now be seen in the upcoming 2020 release Sardar Udham Singh, has taken some time off his busy schedule to ring in his 31st birthday in New York. Yes, the actor has flown to New York and will celebrate the occasion with his college friends there. Reportedly, the Sanju actor has rented a villa in the countryside, which is just a two-hour drive outside the city. Rishi Kapoor, who was diagnosed with cancer in the middle of 2018, has been undergoing treatment in New York for a while now. During his stay in New York, Kapoor was visited by a number of more people including Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher among others. Just last month, his brother Randhir Kapoor said Rishi will be back in the country in a few months, amid reports that he is now "cancer free."

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, the actor said, "I am in remission, meaning now I am cancer-free. I will have to do a bone marrow transplant which in all probability should take another two months minimum," adding that his kids had "really shouldered" his problems.
