Veteran filmmaker and actor Girish Karnad breathed his last today morning (May 10, 2019). The actor passed away at his residence in Bengaluru after a prolonged illness and his void will always be felt. He was a notable personality who was awarded Padma Shri in 1974 and the Padma Bhushan in 1992. Besides being an actor, he was also internationally known as a playwright and a highly talented film-maker, an able cultural administrator, a noted communicator and a person of wide accomplishments and interests. He was last seen in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's 2017 release, Tiger Zinda Hai.
