It is a wonder that in this era where even a little bit of information is scrutinised, we still have film-makers trying to take stuff from other producers without giving relevant credibility. Music composers like Pritam and Anu Malik have often been accused of lifting tracks from other composers and countries. Now the latest song from Veere Di Wedding, starring Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, finds itself mired in a plagiarism controversy.
The makers of Veere Di Wedding have released a new song from the movie called Laaj Sharam. The catchy track is composed by White Noise, which is an A&R (artists and repertoire) venture of the popular composers, Sachin-Jigar. Laaj Sharam is sung by Divya Kumar and Jasleen Royal, with Enbee handling the rap portions. The song, which was revealed some hours back, had become one of the top trends in YouTube. Check out the song here -
But soon, the listeners found out the beats in the Laaj Sharam song are similar to that of the Korean song Girls Girls Girls by the popular band, GOT7. After listening to both the songs, we have to say this - the similarities are uncanny. Here's the song for your reference -
Many of the fans of the original song are calling out the makers ofVeere Di Wedding and accusing them of plagiarism right in the comments section of the song. They also want to makers to apologise for this oversight. We have pasted some of the comments below -
Now we don't know if the producers of Veere Di Wedding have taken the rights to the song or not. If they have, then they should have mentioned it somewhere during the duration or at least in the credits section. Let's wait and watch to see if they will rectify this mistake in the future!
