So it's no surprise to see that he has already bagged his first award for the awards season 2018 that has kickstarted. The 9th Jagran Film Festival that recently took place awarded Varun Dhawan 'Best Actor Male' for his performance in Shoojit Sircar's October. The official Twitter handle of the award show mentioned, "The 9th Jagran Film Festival 'Best Actor – Male' award goes to @Varun_dvn for his spectacularly moving performance in movie @OctoberFilm2018.

Even Varun took to his personal Twitter account to share his happiness as he tweeted, "Won best actor for #October. The Shiuli flower has a lifespan only for a night but I have a feeling October will live on forever @ShoojitSircar @writeonj @ronnielahiri" Well, that's an award he certainly deserved for his moving performance in October. In fact, his recently released film, Sui Dhaaga - Made in India, with Anushka Sharma, also received an acclaim at the awards function for best promotions.

Should we take it as a hint that this year the awards functions will be dominated by Varun Dhawan for his performances in October and Sui Dhaaga? We can wait on that and see what the award committees have to say. But for now, congratulations Varun for your win!
