As October is on the verge of its release, we got a chance to interact with the stars of the film Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu and of course the creator- Shoojit Sircar. After the extremely successful films like Piku and Pink, there are high expectations from the film. We all know how Varun Dhawan is known to be the ultimate box-office king who has not given a single flop in his filmy career until now! So, does he have the same expectations from this film? A big NO! In fact, the young superstar feels that the whole display of box-office numbers in public is pointless, and we sooo agree with him!
When asked about his box office expectations from October film, the Judwaa 2 actor said, “I think I am done with that. In fact, one very big film-star told me that we have only started this. The worst thing we did is putting out these numbers. There was time when we did not put these numbers. People need to understand that we do not get the entire 100 crores. The collections get distributed. It is a very unhealthy trend.”
Well, what Varun says is noteworthy. We wish the films were only and only about stories and not just the numbers that go on display every damn day. The trade of the film is surely important but is it necessary to showcase all the details everyday on the social media? Only if all the trade analysts and the other filmmakers took this into consideration. While it is pleasing to see the films making good amount at the ticket windows, they are somewhere overpowering the motive of the film and we would want to take Varun’s suggestion seriously!
