Aditya Dhar's directorial venture Uri: The Surgical Strike has already been declared a blockbuster but the film is yet to end its theatrical run. The Military drama, starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead, came out in theatres exactly two months ago and impressed the audience big time. No wonder, it's still minting money at the ticket windows and refuses to slow down. After entering the coveted Rs 200 crore club and becoming the highest grossing film in the medium-budget category, Uri is now heading towards Rs 250 crore mark in India which is absolutely incredible. Announcing the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and wrote, "Nine weeks of meritorious run in today’s times is a rarity... #UriTheSurgicalStrike continues to attract footfalls, despite reduced screens/shows and multiple new films every week... [Week 9] Fri 17 lakhs, Sat 41 lakhs, Sun 50 lakhs. Total: ₹ 242.27 cr. India biz. #Uri."
He also tweeted, "#UriTheSurgicalStrike biz at a glance... Week 1: ₹ 71.26 cr
Week 2: ₹ 62.77 cr, Week 3: ₹ 37.02 cr, Week 4: ₹ 29.34 cr, Week 5: ₹ 18.74 cr
Week 6: ₹ 11.56 cr, Week 7: ₹ 6.67 cr, Week 8: ₹ 3.83 cr. Weekend 9: ₹ 1.08 cr

Vicky, who is currently shooting for an untitled horror film, took to Instagram and thanked all everyone for showering immense love on his film. He posted a still from Uri and wrote, "#Uri marks 2 months of successful run in theatres today and continues to receive so much love from you all. Thank You, India." Apart from Kaushal, Uri also features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and television actor Mohit Raina in important roles. While Vicky is currently riding high on the success of the film, everyone is now eagerly waiting to see him in Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht which will release next year.
