Uri - The Surgical Strike Box Office Collection: Vicky Kaushal Starrer Continues its Record-Breaking Spree, Mints Rs 229.77 Crore
The film is set to have another fantastic week at the box office
It's absolutely unbelievable how far Uri: The Surgical Strike has come at the box office. The military drama starring the very talented Vicky Kaushal in the lead has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of Hindi cinema. And what's surprising is the fact that the film is still not done with its business at the BO. It released last month on January 11 and since then Uri has been minting money and breaking records non-stop. After performing well over the sixth weekend, Vicky starrer is now set to surpass the lifetime collection of Kick which stands at Rs 231 crore. Uri - The Surgical Strike Box Office Collection: Vicky Kaushal Starrer Earns Rs 228.78 Crore, Is Eyeing to Surpass the Lifetime Collection of Simmba.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to popular microblogging site Twitter and revealed the updated figures saying, "#UriTheSurgicalStrike is witnessing never-seen-before trend... The josh is intact and should gather momentum over the weekend... [Week 6] Fri 1.20 cr, Sat 2.53 cr, Sun 3.24 cr, Mon 1.33 cr, Tue 1.34 cr, Wed 1 cr. Total: ₹ 229.77 cr. India biz."
Despite being in theatres for six weeks, Uri is still drawing the crowd to the cinema halls and that too in huge number. Though Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy is currently running in theatres, the rap drama hasn't affected Vicky's film at all. While Aditya Dhar's directorial venture will easily beat Salman Khan's Kick, trade pundits feel the film also challenge Simmba's lifetime business. While Uri is refusing to slow down at the BO, in the meantime, the film has been ranked second on the IMDB's list of top rated Indian movies of all time. Yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna's film Anand is on the top of the list. Guess that's another big milestone that nobody expected Uri to achieve.
