Uri - The Surgical Strike Box Office Collection: Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam Starrer Surpasses Rs 225 Crore Mark at the Ticket Windows
After entering the Rs 200 crore club, Vicky's film could now break Simmba's record.
Yes, Uri: The Surgical Strike is still drawing the crowd to the cinema halls. The military drama starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead, released on January 11 and since hasn't slowed at the box office. After breaking various records, the Aditya Dhar directorial venture may now surpass the lifetime business of Ranveer Singh's blockbuster The film, which co-stars Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and television actor Mohit Raina is performing so well that it has exceeded all the expectations. Despite being in theatres for more than a month, Uri minted Rs 6.50 crore over the weekend as per BollywoodHungama. Uri: The Surgical Strike Box Office Collection Day 37: Vicky Kaushal’s War Drama Continues Its Golden Run, Collects Rs 222.80 Crore.
This means the total collection of Uri: The Surgical Strike as of now stands at Rs 225.57 crore according to BollywoodHungama which is absolutely fantastic given that its a medium-budget film with no A-list actor in it. What's even more interesting is the fact the film opened to not-so-great reviews and yet it managed to impress the audience big time.
While a lot of films arrived in the theatres after Uri, including Kangana Ranaut's period war drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, none of them really affected the business of Vicky's film at the box office. Last week, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's highly anticipated film Gully Boy also hit the screens after creating a lot of noise. And though the musical drama is having a dream run at the BO, it has hardly posed any threat to Uri till now. Gully Boy Box Office Collection Day 4: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Film Is Already Racing Towards Rs 100 Crore Club, Rakes in Rs 72.45 Crore.
With one more big film releasing this Friday - Indra Kumar's multi-starrer Total Dhamaal - things could spice up at the box office but only time will tell. For now, Vicky starrer Uri seems to be enjoying its golden run at the ticket windows.
