The first trailer of the upcoming horror film Tumbbad dropped today. We have been excited about the movie ever since the teaser of the movie made its debut some 4-5 weeks back. The movie stars Sohum Shah in the lead role and has been directed by Rahi Anil Barve. It tells the story of a place named Tummbad which hides a lavish treasure beneath the ground. A kid is searching for the treasure, not knowing that something otherworldly also lurks over the riches. The trailer is creepy AF and generates interest immediately. The cinematography is beautiful and the background score is haunting.

To point out a couple of things that did not work for me in the trailer, I have to say that there were not as many scares as I'd expect from a horror movie's first trailer. But maybe, I am going to believe, the makers are saving the good stuff for the movie. The trailer says Tumbbad is a "story of greed, beyond urge, beyond fear". The trailer focusses more on this human emotion, which, if you think about, is the scariest thing in the world. Aanand L Rai came on board to present Tumbbad after being impressed by it at a screening. He has said, "Tumbbad is a skilful effort which has been developed over the years and the results are astonishing. While the story is gripping, the film is a visual delight and a theatrical experience that one shouldn’t miss.”

Tumbbad is all set to release on October 12.
