Who would not want to watch animals playing parallel leads on the big screen? Probably people with no heart. In the near future, quite a lot of movies will be giving equal focus to animals on the big screen as much as the human actors. For instance, take this week's release - Total Dhamaal. The trailer of the movie has made it very evident that animals will play a big role in the narrative of the film. Can you even imagine the climax of Hum Aapke Hain Koun playing out without a little help from the family dog, Tuffy? Lately, films have seen an integral addition to films which is soon turning into a great trend.

Filmmakers have started creating content/ stories which has animals playing pivot roles. Other than having great actors, animals have become one of the main drivers for the movie goes. We have witnessed films like Dil Dhadakne Do, Life of Pi, Planet of the Apes, etc. where animals have been part of the main plot. Here’s a list of upcoming films featuring animals as the parallel leads:

1) Junglee: Junglee is a family-adventure film, the story revolves around Vidyut Jammwal's character - a vet, who on his homecoming to his father's elephant reserve, encounters and fights an international poachers racket. The film will see elephants as an integral part of the film.

2) Total Dhamaal: Apart from having a stellar star cast, the film also features elephants, rhinos, lion, tiger, monkey. In fact, the movie has roped in the same monkey who played a prominent role in the Hollywood film Hangover 2.

3) The Lion King: Director Jon Favreau’s all-new The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king must overcome betrayal and tragedy to assume his rightful place on Pride Rock.

4) Dumbo: The all-new grand live-action adventure Dumbo expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight and the main protagonist of the film is an elephant.
