The third instalment in the Dhamaal franchise, Total Dhamaal is directed by Indra Kumar. The film caught the attention of the Bollywood fans with its huge starcast, physical comedy gags and its comic-book like visuals. However, the trailer had been criticised for repeating the same schtick as the first Dhamaal movie (which, itself, was a remake of a Hollywood film, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World). Also, save for a couple of gags, most of the jokes failed to land. This lead to enough memes and jokes on social media at the expense of the film. Amaal Mallik Rues the Growing Remix Culture in Bollywood; Is He Taking a Dig at Total Dhamaal’s Paisa Yeh Paisa and Luka Chuppi’s Poster Lagwa Do?

Total Dhamaal is releasing on February 22. The movie was also in news for its two remixes, "Paisa Yeh Paisa" and "Mungda" (featured on Sonakshi Sinha). The songs have got heavy criticism, with even Lata Mangeshkar claiming that she is unhappy about her songs being misused by today's film-makers.
