Indra Kumar's adventure comedy Total Dhamaal starring Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, and Esha Gupta is finally hitting the theatres today, February 22. The film, which is the third installment in the super successful comic franchise Dhamaal, has generated good enough buzz before its release. The trailer too, which came out last month, was mostly greeted with a positive response on social media. And the fact that its a family entertainer means the film will cater to a much larger audience across India. But the big question is - will Total Dhamaal set the box office on fire? Total Dhamaal First Reactions: Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor’s Film Is ‘Hilarious’, Say Fans.
Well, since Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy which released last week was more of Mumbai centric, the film couldn't sustain at small cities after the initial few days. In comparison, Total Dhamaal is a comedy which has been made for the masses and hence its very much likely that the film will do well overall at the ticket windows.
According to trade experts, Total Dhamaal should easily open with two digit figures at the box office. In fact, the Ajay Devgn starrer is expected to mint anything between Rs 10 crore to 15 crore on day 1. And if that happens then Indra Kumar's directorial venture will end its run at the cinema halls only after crossing Rs 100 crore mark.
Since Total Dhamaal is a solo release, that will certainly boost the film's collection at least in the first three days. And though Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike is running in the theatres alongside Gully Boy, both the films won't affect Total Dhamaal to a great extent. We say so because while Uri is nearing its theatrical run, Ranveer starrer, on the other hand, is now finding it a bit difficult to draw the audience at the multiplexes. Another big advantage for Total Dhamaal is the fact that it will attract the audience even at single screen theaters in two and three tier cities. Riteish Deshmukh’s Total Dhamaal Picture Will Make You Go, ‘So, What’s Up Ajay Devgn?’
Lastly, the film has brought together Madhur Dixit and Anil Kapoor after 18 long years and hence everyone is super excited to see them on the big screen. So overall, Total Dhamaal seems well place at the box office as of now. Therefore, all we can do is wait and watch how things actually pan out for the film at BO.
