Total Dhamaal Box Office Collection Day 8: Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor's Adventure Comedy Rakes in Rs 99.30 Crore
Despite new releases, Total Dhamaal is performing well at the ticket windows.
Ajay Devgn's latest outing Total Dhamaal has turned out to a profitable venture and is now set to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Directed by Indra Kumar, the adventure comedy is faring well in mass circuits and especially single screen theatres. Also starring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, and few others, the film has become the highest grosser in the Dhamaal franchise. Apart from faring well in India, Total Dhamaal has done really good business overseas too. Despite two new films releasing on Friday, March 1, Total Dhamaal has continued its good run and that's commendable. Total Dhamaal Box Office Collection Day 7: Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor Starrer Has a Fantastic Week 1, Earns Rs 94.55 Crore.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter a while back and wrote, "#TotalDhamaal is super-strong on Day 8, despite reduced showcasing [multiplexes] and two significant releases... Mass circuits continue to create dhamaal... Expect good growth on [second] Sat and Sun... [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr. Total: ₹ 99.30 cr. India biz."
He then tweeted, "#TotalDhamaal emerges a HIT... Benchmarks... Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 3, ₹ 75 cr: Day 5. Will cross ₹ 100 cr today [Day 9] India biz. Overseas total after Week 1: $ 4.36 mn [₹ 30.95 cr]." Total Dhamaal Box Office Collection Day 6: Ajay Devgn's Film Witnesses Slight Decline, Mints Rs 88.05 Crore.
Further, a report in Boxofficeindia.com stated, "The film is doing excellent business outside the metros be it multiplexes or single screens while the metros are good. The metros should see strong collections on Saturday and Sunday like last week. The screenings of the film were halved at multiplexes due to the release of two new films so it has done very well to get this far on the second Friday."
If Total Dhamaal continues to fare well then it will easily end its run around Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office. Co-produced by Devgn and Indra Kumar, its the third instalment of the successful Dhamaal franchise and is loosely based on Hollywood film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
