Filmmaker Indra Kumar's latest offering Total Dhamaal has completed two weeks in theatres and so far the film has had a fantastic run at the box office. Starring Ajay Devgn in the lead along with Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and few others, the film opened to good reviews on February 22 and then went on to impress the audience as well. No wonder, it became the fourth film of 2019 to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. And now the adventure comedy is inching towards the Rs 150 crore mark at the Indian box office. Total Dhamaal Box Office Collection Day 13: Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit's Film Rakes in Rs 130 Crore.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to popular microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, "#TotalDhamaal continues to create dhamaal in mass circuits... Normal ticket rates [not hiked] boost biz beyond metros/Tier-2 cities/single screens... [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr, Sat 7.02 cr, Sun 11.45 cr, Mon 6.03 cr, Tue 3.20 cr, Wed 3 cr, Thu 2.60 cr. Total: ₹ 132.60 cr. India biz."
Adarsh also tweeted, "#TotalDhamaal biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 94.55 cr, Week 2: ₹ 38.05 cr. Total: ₹ 132.60 cr. India biz. HIT. #TotalDhamaal benchmarks...Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 3, ₹ 75 cr: Day 5, ₹ 100 cr: Day 9, ₹ 125 cr: Day 12. India biz."
Further, a report in Boxofficeindia.com stated, "The week on week drop is just 60% which is good for a film in this zone as they tend to be more front-loaded but this film has held up very well. The film is being driven by the business in Gujarat / Saurashtra and the Central India markets and the new release Luka Chuppi was not much competition in these places as Total Dhamaal was recording better figures in these areas but Captain Marvel may prove to bigger competition this week." Captain Marvel Movie Review: Brie Larson's Superhero Outing is Impressive and the Future of MCU Seems to be in Good Hands.
Apart from Captain Marvel, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla is also hitting the screens today. So let's see if these two films affect the business of Total Dhamaal or not. For now, Devgn's co-production venture seems to be placed well at the BO.
