Toilet - Ek Prem Katha becomes the fourth Indian movie to release in China this year. The other Indian movies that managed to get to our neighbouring country this year were Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar, Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium and Prabhas and Anushka Shetty's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. This will be Akshay Kumar's first movie to have such a grand release in China. But can Akshay Kumar create the same magic as Aamir Khan?

Well, we have the opening day figures to get some idea on this. According to industry watcher Ramesh Bala, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha has collected $2.31 million (Rs 15.6 crore) on its opening day. This makes it the lowest opening day grosser among all the recent Indian movie released in China. It is still an impressive debut considering Toilet - Ek Prem Katha opened at the second position at the box office in China. But with such a low opening day collections, there are less expectations for the movie, that released in China by the name Toilet Hero, to perform exceptionally well in the days ahead. Dangal still leads the list!

Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, that also stars Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead, is a love story set against the backdrop of the campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie was a huge hit in India and had grossed more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
