For the past few years, we have been seeing films with Aamir Khan in the lead capturing the box office and creating records. Currently, the highest grossing Bollywood film to date is Dangal, while it is also India's highest grossing movie worldwide. Reportedly made at Rs 300 crore, this Vijay Krishna Acharya film made Rs 50 crore on its opening day, while also having the third-highest pre-sale collections. On the other hand, Vijay's Tamil film Sarkar is doing well both in India and overseas, grossing more than Rs 200 crore worldwide. TOH's loss is also Badhaai Ho's gain, as the shows for Ayushmann Khurrana's film was increased after the tepid response to the Aamir Khan movie.

Thugs of Hindostan, produced by Yash Raj Films, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Katrina Kaif and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
