Thugs of Hindostan Box Office Collection Day 3: Aamir Khan's Film Enters Rs 100 Crore Club But There's Little To Celebrate- Here's Why!

For movies like TOH and even Race 3, Rs 100 crore is no longer a benchmark for these movies to be called a hit.

Thugs of Hindostan is no Stree. Or Badhaai Ho. Or Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Or Raazi. The reason why we are comparing Aamir Khan's Diwali misfire with these movies is that all of them have entered the Rs 100 crore clubs. But Thugs of Hindostan did it faster, much faster. The pirate saga, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, has entered the Rs 100 crore club within three days. Just three days. You can thank Aamir Khan's box office power, the tremendous hype and the backing of a production house like Yash Raj Films for that! Thugs of Hindostan Records Highest Day 1 BO Collection, but Having a Hard Time Stopping Fans From Posting Funny Memes and Jokes.

However, there is a little to celebrate for trade experts and even the producers, and the reason is the comparison above. The other movies we mentioned in the opening para are made with very small budgets and do not star a Khan or a Kapoor to give them the push. So their entry in the Rs 100 crore club makes them some of the most profitable films of the year. Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju, Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat, Salman Khan's Race 3 or Rajkummar Rao's Stree - Ranking 15 Highest Grossing Films of 2018 From Most Profitable to The Least!

That's not the case with Thugs of Hindostan. For movies like TOH and even Race 3, Rs 100 crore is no longer a benchmark for these movies to be called a hit. Thugs of Hindostan is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 300 crore (?), so they have only recouped a third of that cost through domestic earnings. Thugs of Hindostan Box Office: Why The Cold Reception to Aamir Khan's Film Is Making Us Worried For Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0.

There was no need to heed the warning bells, but thanks to the mixed reviews and the negative viewer reactions, Thugs of Hindostan is seeing a steep decline in the collections even on holidays. This comes right after that stupendous opening day collections, where the movie earned Rs 50 crore. Check out trade analyst Taran Adarsh's tweets on the same.

If Thugs of Hindostan doesn't lift its collections in the days ahead (it has no big competition to be scared of for two weeks), Aamir Khan could be seeing his biggest debacle in this decade. No wonder, there were reports that Aamir and Amitabh Bachchan dropping promotional activities of the film, after seeing the negative reactions.
