It can be said without much argument that Thugs of Hindostan is a movie really worth looking forward to this year. Primarily, it is an Aamir Khan movie, and the man is doing nothing wrong when it comes to box office and the content of the film. He is reuniting with his Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor, and even though Dhoom 3 was no good film, it was one of the biggest hits of all time. Thugs of Hindostan looks to be a different beast, though.
A period saga, it brings pirates into Bollywood for perhaps the first time in decades. Considered as one of the most expensive movies ever made in Hindi cinema, it looks like the production house, Yash Raj Films, is going 'spare no expense' way in mounting this film. As per a report in DNA, Thugs of Hindostan recently had a 45-day outdoor shoot in Malta, which is considered as the most expensive outdoor shoot ever in the history of Hindi cinema.
A source close to the development gave details of the shoot to the publication, which have left us quite excited about the film. The source revealed, "The director needed a pristine, unseen location and a setting where two huge ships could fit in. The ships were built by international teams that were experts in constructing such set-ups for Hollywood films. The crew stayed in the island country for 45 days and shot at various locations, making it one of the most-expensive outdoor schedules in the history of Indian cinema."
Thugs of Hindostan has Aamir Khan work with Amitabh Bachchan for the very first time in a movie. Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh are the female leads in the movie. Thugs of Hindostan will release on November 7.
