Eminent poet, lyricist and activist Javed Akhtar is one of the rare few Bollywood celebs who is not known to mince words when it comes to speaking his mind. Javed Akhtar has no qualms sharing his frank thoughts on any social issue (which makes his silence on the #MeToo movement rather unnerving) and does so on a public platform like Twitter. Which also means that he often ends being a target of trolls, who end up abusing him and calling him an anti-national or so. That hasn't stopped Mr Akhtar from debating with these trolls, as he tries to drill some sense into what is actually a pointless, reward-less argument. Kangana Ranaut Takes A Dig at Javed Akhtar and Calls Him Accused of Plagiarism?

Recently, Javed Akhtar had attended the Sahitya AajTak event, which was a three-day literature festival held in New Delhi. He was interviewed on stage by one of the channel's journo, Anjana Om Kashyap, where he was asked about some of the relevant topics being discussed. One such topic happened to be people's debate on various historical matters, like allegiance to Tipu Sultan.

Like a boss, Javed Akhtar waved off her question claiming that these discussions hardly matter, while also taking a dig at the channels saying that such discussions also help in the channel's TRPs. To the embarrassment of the host, he even asks her many such programmes did her channel had on these topics, much to the amusement of the audience. Javed saab later added that the discussions on 'historical' matters only crop whenever elections are around, and instead we should rather focus on matters like infrastructure development and education et al.  Javed Akhtar Awarded Delhi Govt's Hindi Sahitya Academy Samman.

Later when he was asked about the hate he gets on social media for his views, Javed Akhtar added, "The equation is that communal Muslims do not like secular Hindus. And communal Hindus do not like secular Muslims. And, I get hatred from both groups. Communal Hindus ask me to go to Pakistan. And communal Muslims tell me that I should change my name to a Hindu name. But that works for me."

We are sure that many of his views expressed in the video will not go down with his haters, but that's some verbal badassery from Mr Akhtar Saab!
