The makers of Sonam Kapoor's movie, The Zoya Factor, just dropped a new song on YouTube, from the original soundtrack of the film. Titled, Maheroo, this soothing number features Sonam romancing Dulquer Salmaan. Yaseer Desai's voice goes perfectly with the composition by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.
A new song from the upcoming film, The Zoya Factor, has dropped on the internet. In the music video for the song titled Maheroo, we get to see Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan's dreamy romance. Of course, the story unfolds in slow motion, Bollywood's favourite technique to show how madly in love are two characters. Well, it works every time. Maheroo has been composed by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. The romantic track is sung by Yaseer Desai. Maybe Arijit Singh was not available? Or maybe Bollywood is finally giving other singers a chance? Whatever may the reason be, but Yaseer's voice goes perfectly with the track. It is the right amount of soothing and energetic. You can plug in your earphones at nigth and listen to this calm track until you fall asleep. 'What's Prassthanam?' Shankar-Ehsan-Loy lift the song slowly with soft music, and make it reach a calming crescendo, as chorus kicks in. The lyrics for Maheroo have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. He has done a great job giving a depth to the song with simplistic words. Fine, I only had to Google what 'maheroo' meant. It means moon-faced, in case you are rowing the same boat as me. Dulquer and Sonam's chemistry in Maheroo will catch your attention. The best thing about the romance is that, for a change, you see the lady take the lead. Sonam pulls Dulquer into the bedroom when he hinst they go out for a ride. She is on top when they are kissing. The scenes do not represent dominance but simply a woman expressing her desires. Yes, Bollywood, more of this!
The Zoya Factor has been directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie is based on the book by the same name, written by Anuja Chauhan, who also acted as an advisor on sets.
