Yesterday, we had reported about how casting director Mukesh Chhabra had found his heroine in the young Sanjana Sanghi for his remake of The Fault in Our Stars. Sanjana Sanghi has been previously seen in small roles in movies like Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar, Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium and Pulkit Samrat's Fukrey Returns. The Fault in Our Stars remake is definitely her big ticket release, and she will be romancing Sushant Singh Rajput in the movie.
If you are a Hollywood fan, you might be knowing that The Fault in Our Stars, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, is based on a bestseller by the same name. The novel has been written by John Green. Though Chhabra had bought the official rights to remake the movie, the author has been recently made aware of the remake's existence and he found the idea 'amazing'.
Check out his tweet below,
I can't believe this is happening. Amazing! “Bollywood remake of The Fault in Our Stars confirms its female lead”https://t.co/3y8avVH8Fj

Mukesh Chhabra was quite excited about the author's reaction as he tweeted back, “Wow. Thank You”. Even the newbie Sanjana was elated with Green's tweet as she tweeted, “Wow this happened! Such an honour.”
However, the Indian fans of the Hollywood do not share the enthusiasm about the idea of it being remade in Bollywood, going by the past experience. In the replies to John Green's tweet, they warned the author to not keep his hopes high. Here are some of their reactions,
AR Rahman's music is a (only) plus!
I understand your excitement but as an Indian person who knows what bollywood is about I'm afraid I can't share it. I just really hope they don't ruin the story completely.
At least the music will be good!

AR Rahman's scores again!
Woah!! Not sure how I feel about it. AR Rahman is the best we have got and I would love to listen to his musical take on this story and its the director's major debut. I just hope the story is handled as beautifully and delicately as it was by Hollywood. Fingers crossed people!

Ouch!
@AnselElgort was very adorable in the movie, but @itsSSR is definitely not a good fit for a bollywood remake. I don't know who is the casting director or it's just budget constraints.

Anyway, whether you like it or not, the preparations for the remake is in full swing, as the shoot is expected to begin in the coming days.
The Fault in Our Stars is about two cancer-afflicted teens who meet in a support group and forges a friendship that soon translates into a touching love story. The movie was a huge hit, and Chhabra expects to replicate the success with his first directorial venture.
