The Accidental Prime Minister is going to give 2019 that controversial start, with enough outrage against the film. Anupam Kher is playing the lead in the film, essaying the role of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh. The movie is based on Singh's tenure as the Prime Minister and the various controversies surrounding it and is based on the book written by his former media adviser, Sanjay Baru. Akshaye Khanna is playing Baru in the film. The trailer of the film, directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, has created outrage among the Indian National Congress Supporters for showing the Gandhi family in a bad light. There have been attempts to ban the release of the film. Now as per the latest update by ANI, a local court in Muzaffarpur has ordered the authorities to file an FIR against Anupam Kher, and 13 others involved in the film. The order was made in connection with a petition filed by Advocate Sudhir Ojha, to stop the release of The Accidental Prime Minister. Interestingly, the Delhi High Court has recently rejected a plea to ban the trailer of the film. So we do hope that if there is any plea to seek a ban on the film, it will be rejected by the court. Propaganda film or not, The Accidental Prime Minister has every right to be released, if the democratic values of the country have to be released. The Accidental Prime Minister will release on January 11.
