After the Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta opened up about being harassed by a very renowned actor ten years ago, many celebrities from the industry came forward to show their support to the actress. While some slammed her allegations, a few others chose to have a diplomatic stand with respect to this row. Reportedly, the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress alleged that Nana Patekar has sexually harassed her in 2009 while working on sets of Horn Ok Please; she further claimed that the veteran actor has a history of abusing women.
Tweeting his concern regarding the row, Farhan Akhtar had stated, "This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned." However, Priyanka Chopra too joined the bandwagon. Replying to Farhan's tweet, Priyanka wrote, "Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors"
Though Priyanka took a stand for the actress, calling Tanushree a survivor didn't really go down well with her. In an interview with Zoom, Tanushree said, "I do not want to be referred as a 'survivor'; I do have a name. However, speaking of Priyanka, I am glad she finally joined the bandwagon."

Speaking of Nana Patekar, the Welcome actor refuted the allegations. While speaking to Times Now, the actor had said, "People can say whatever they want to say, I will keep doing my work." Well, the actor is going to take a legal action on Tanushree for ruining his reputation in the industry. Talking about the same, Nana Patekar's lawyer Rajendra Shirodkar told ANI, "In process of sending legal notice to Tanushree Dutta as she has made false allegations&has spoken untruth. We will send the notice later today which will be basically a notice seeking apology for her statements making allegations." Stay tuned to LatestLY for further updates.
