After making a smashing comeback through Veere Di Wedding, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to enthrall her audience with her next two films, 'Good News' and 'Takht'. While she is already on the sets of the former flick, curiosity is high about the latter, which is a period drama directed by Karan Johar. It is a film that is based on the Mughal era and Bebo has certainly not done that kind of film in the past. In a recent interview, she spoke at length on her role in the mega movie and also working once again with her all-time favourite filmmaker, Karan. Lakme Fashion Week 2019: Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor Grace The Ramp Together Giving Us Major 'Takht' Vibes!.

Karan's last film as a director was Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film was a box office hit and now for a change, the producer-maker is experimenting with the 'period drama' genre in which Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker are pro! Coming back to Kareena, she is reportedly playing the role of Mughal emperor  Shah Jahan's eldest daughter, Jahanara Begum Sahib. Alia Bhatt: I Don't Know What Takht Is About.

Speaking of it with PTI, she said, "It's a different film because I've not really done a period film like this. There will be a certain amount of dialect preparation, look tests that will happen. I'm also working with Karan after a very long time so I'm very excited. Hopefully it'll be a part which will be remembered because it's socially relevant. It's a strong character. The best part is it'll be completely different than what I did in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' as Poo."

Although the audience is in love with 'Poo', it will totally be worth it to watch the real-life Begum as the reel-life Begum in this magnum opus. The film also stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles.
